Announcements:

We had a great turnout for the May Outing and Past Chairmans’ Night in Hilton Head, SC. Six Past Chairmen were present including Bill Matarazzo, Michael Stowe, Rick Torrence, Robbie Gallagher, Ted Kostilnik, and Peter Kim. Glenn Huneycutt joined the ranks of Past Chairman and turned over the gavel to JP Kramer as the Chapter Chairman for the 2026-2027 year.

As the new Chairman, JP’s first order of business was to lead the AFS Piedmont Chapter Board of Directors in the annual planning meeting this past June where we developed the program and schedule for the upcoming 2026 - 2027 year. You can check out the updated meeting schedule here.

The Chapter Sponsor drive for the 2026 - 2027 year is starting, and sponsorships with turn over at the end of August. It is due to our chapter sponsors that we are able to continue to put on great programs for our membership fostering education, training, and network all to strengthen the metalcasting industry within our region. See our Sponsorship page for opportunities to support the chapter.

Find the latest chapter news in the latest edition of The Shakeout.

You can check out the schedule for the upcoming meetings this year here.

The Piedmont Chapter is grateful for our volunteer leadership team working hard to put together beneficial and educational programs for our events. If you are interested in helping out in any way, we are always eager to get more members involved. There are opportunities to join the board as a director each year or support for individual meetings. Speak to one of the chapter board members at your next meeting!

And don’t forget, the technical sessions at our meetings can count as continuing education credits for your professional development!
