The AFS Piedmont Chapter’s Mission is to strengthen our metalcasting industry within our region. We will accomplish this through the utilization of industry expert training and technology transfers to assist our members learn best-practice methods to effectively manage their production operations, improve quality, expand leading edge technologies, and profitably market their products and services.

The Piedmont Chapter is excited to announce the January Meeting - Defect and Root Cause Analysis & 5 Whys which will be held January 15th and 16th in Statesboro, GA at Georgia Southern University.
This meeting will be beneficial to tooling designers looking to reduce defects in the casting process along with maintenance personnel troubleshooting equipment.
The chapter will be visiting GA Southern’s Foundry Program as well as touring Briggs & Stratton Die Casting.
Our previous November meeting was a great success with some very informative presentations and discussion on the upcoming changes and requirements related to the new PM 2.5 regulations affecting our industry. To top it off we had a tour of the impressive new Charlotte Pipe Foundry in Oakboro, NC - see a photo of the group below.
